Million Goods is one of Brooklyn's most exciting new spaces — seamlessly fusing coffee, menswear, hi-fi and wine to achieve a harmonious hybrid of subcultures.
Its retail operation showcases a variety of elevated, effortless pieces from both local New York and global brands. Shoppers are likely to find both familiar favorites and discover new designers in the same space.
You'll find wine enthusiasts at Million Goods's spacious bar, chatting with its friendly bartenders and sipping bottles by small growers with a focus on low-intervention wines. But it doesn't stop there — Million Goods also boasts a custom sound system, with a rotating cast of DJs and producers spinning multiple nights per week.
Million Goods opened in 2024 and designed by Solid Void Architects The space feels simultaneously modern yet comfortable and inviting, with clean lines of light wood juxtaposing a striking terrazzo counter and white-painted brick. Louis Poulsen was selected to illuminate and enhance the space several months after opening.
Million Goods blends four different occupancy programs at the same time all at once inside a tiny space. We fuse artisan curated coffee, thread-ripping menswear, and small-batch organic wine varieties all colored by a rotating menu of deep vinyl cuts by the best DJs. Oh and, we serve from early morning to late night.
This unorthodox pairing of many business functions in a tight space made it clear we needed some special interior design elements that would at once work in harmony with the rest of the space and punctuate its different personalities.
The first move was selecting a Louis Poulsen PH 5 pendant, center-aligned and crowning the turntables, making a sort of wheels-of-steel sanctuary. The VL 56 pendants elevate the bar with a sculptural heaviness providing a diffuse elegance cloak of light.
Good lighting is about creating a mood that complements the purpose of the space. It’s not just about visibility but also about evoking a feeling—whether that’s intimacy at the bar or vibrancy in the retail area. The function is inherent without being overwhelming. Good architecture is the marriage of light and space — once you define the space you need to render it alive with light.
Our design inspiration stems from a blend of cultural influences and the atmosphere we aim to cultivate. It draws heavily from the crossroads of menswear, music subcultures, and community spaces, enriched by elements of Japanese and Scandinavian design. We value heritage and commitment to craftsmanship -- they inspire us to focus on thoughtful details that elevate everyday experiences.
