This coming spring, Louis Poulsen will launch the smallest version of the LP Grand series to date. Shaped by the acclaimed Danish designer Christian Flindt, this new size offers grand opportunities for warm and dimmable lighting in private residences, offices, and hotel environments alike.
The latest addition to the LP Grand series is called LP Grand 320. “320” refers to the fixture’s diameter, making this pendant and wall/ceiling lamp the smallest yet and far more apt, not only in homes but also in hospitality settings.
The LP Grand 320 comes with new features including a warmer light temperature of 2700K and phase dimming which creates possibilities for more varied and cozy lighting.
The LP Grand 320 pendant emits a diffused, downward-directed, glare-free light. It provides the same comfortable lighting whether it is mounted on the wall or the ceiling. The circular light source inside the shade combines direct light with reflected light through its curved rings, providing indirect illumination with a wide upward glow. The transitions of light minimize contrast while creating ambiance.
Flindt likes to refer to the LP Grand as “the sun on a day, where it glows through misty air, softening the light.” Concentric rings sculpt the light through reflections and gradients while light and shadow reduce the contrast to create comfort and ambiance.
The first LP Grand was introduced in 2016 after Louis Poulsen approached Flindt with a request to develop a scalable pendant for large spaces that would take up little room while fulfilling Louis Poulsen’s design philosophy, “Design to Shape Light.”
Flindt returned with the sophisticated LP Grand. The pendant combines direct and reflected light in and between its shade of beautifully curved and open rings, ensuring high-quality illumination without glare while providing a warm and pleasant ambiance. Now, the series has been expanded with suspended, surface-mounted, and wall-mounted fixtures in a new size and a suitable color palette of matte-black, matte-champagne, and glossy white.
The LP Grand series fits in gracefully whether it is used in repeated installations in large halls or above the dining table in a modern home. With their own subtle poise, these fixtures complement all types of spaces—and the LP Grand 320 allows smaller spaces to benefit from its design and high-quality lighting.
The LP Grand 320 will be available this coming spring.
