In autumn 2022, Louis Poulsen adds new, vibrant colours to the Panthella Portable and Panthella Mini, which benefits any style, from cool Scandi to more eclectic interiors, making the outstanding 1971 design by Danish architect Verner Panton as relevant as ever.
Reinterpreting nuances of nature, these extraordinary Coral and Pale Blue coloured Panthella lamps serve, together with the Pale Rose version, as calming state-of-the-art essentials in homes, offices and public spaces, reconnecting you to the living environment, while providing little islands of light and wondrous ambience wherever needed.
Panton’s vibrant design world has been expanded with these vivid and brave new shades to evoke festive and artistic play in the most modern of interiors, while applauding the world-renowned designer, who continues to provide the world with joy through his work.
The Panthella Portable and Panthella Mini both emit a pleasant non-glaring light, with the metal shades providing a downward directed illumination, creating a more focused ambience. The white painted inner shade mirrors a comfortable glow, which is again softly reflected in the characteristic trumpet-shaped stem.
The serene tones of the Pale Blue and Pale Rose complement the vibrant Coral well and when toned up or down, provide their own rich and comfortable warmth to any interior.
The latest Panthella variants are just as enjoyable in the office as they are in an outdoor bar, a hotel room, or at home in a child’s room or the hallway. The organic shape of Panton’s 70’s design icon and its superb lighting is easily recognised, no matter where it is placed. Once charged, via USB or wirelessly, the Panthella Portable is furthermore easy to take along anywhere indoors, as well as outdoors, where instantly, it will create a pleasing atmospheric illumination, whatever the setting.
The Panthella Portable and Panthella Mini in Coral and Pale Blue will be available from September 2022, along with the Pale Rose variant.
About Verner Panton
Over the course of his career, Verner Panton (1926-1998) introduced a series of modern lamps with qualities unlike any of his Scandinavian contemporaries. With remarkable faith in the unlimited possibilities of form, he worked successfully to establish a new set of theories about light functionality and had an immense influence on design in general.
Panton had very clear ideas about his work as well as shape, colour and function. At the same time, he made conscious and bold use of different materials. He liked experimenting and working in plastic, foam, Plexiglass etc. and making his designs available to a broader audience. Where prominent Danish contemporaries, like Poul Kjærholm. Hans J. Wegner and Børge Mogensen, applied traditional craftsmanship to classic, natural materials, Panton thought ahead of his time and kept pushing the boundaries of materials, design possibilities and production methods.
