In spring 2022, Louis Poulsen presents the smallest version of the LP Grand series to date, shaped by the acclaimed Danish designer Christian Flindt. The new fixture size offers grand opportunities for warm and dimmable lighting in private residences, offices, and hotel environments alike.
The latest addition to the LP Grand series is called LP Grand 320, of which 320 refers to the diameter of the fixture, making the most recent pendant and wall/ceiling lamp the smallest yet, but also far more apt, not only in the home, but also in hospitality settings.
In addition, the LP Grand 320 comes with new features like a warmer light temperature of 2700K and phase dimming that creates possibilities for more varied and cosy lighting.
The LP Grand 320 pendant emits a diffused downward directed and glare-free light, providing the same comfortable lighting when mounted on the wall or ceiling. The circular light source inside the shade combines direct light with reflected light through its curved rings, providing indirect illumination together with a wide upward glow. The transitions of light minimise contrast, all the while creating ambience.
Designer Christian Flindt likes to refer to the LP Grand as the sun on a day, where it glows through misty air, softening the light. Concentric rings sculpture the light through reflections and gradience of light. Where light and shadow reduce the contrast for comfort and ambience.
The first LP Grand was introduced in 2016. Prior to this, Louis Poulsen had approached Christian Flindt with a request to develop a scalable pendant for large spaces, which in itself took up little room. Also, the fixture needed to fulfil the Louis Poulsen design philosophy, ‘Design to Shape Light’.
Flindt returned with the sophisticated LP Grand that combines direct and reflected light in and between its shade of beautifully curved and open rings, ensuring a high-quality illumination without glare, while providing a warm and pleasant ambience. Now, the series has been expanded further with a new size of suspended, surface mounted and wall mounted fixtures in a suitable colour palette of matt black, matt champagne and glossy white.
The LP Grand series accomplishes fitting in gracefully whether it is used in repeated installations in large halls or above the dining table in a modern home. With their own subtle poise, these fixtures complement all types of spaces, while making it easier to make use of smaller spaces with the LP Grand 320 design and lighting benefits.
The LP Grand 320 will be available in spring 2022.
