Whether you're curled up on the sofa with a good book or a TV series, or entertaining guests, the living room is one of the most used rooms in the home, so it’s important that the atmosphere is just right. Use a variety of lamps in your living room to create different zones and a cosy, relaxing space.
The living room is used for many different activities, be it relaxing, working, or playing, all of which require different kinds of light. Using a selection of lamps to illuminate the room in different ways will allow you to have the best possible light for each activity.
Choose a pendant to provide general lighting, while floor, table and wall lamps can provide more specific lighting for different tasks and areas. Perhaps a floor lamp by the sofa, for reading, and a table lamp in the windowsill to create atmosphere and highlight the architectural features. If you’ve got a small hobby or working space in the living room, you may like to add some downward directed lighting in that area.
