Shine on with Arne Jacobsen

In the spring of 2025, exquisite new editions of the classic AJ lamp will be introduced in Black and Warm Grey, featuring polished brass details that add a soft glow to any interior. The golden highlights give the world-famous Arne Jacobsen design a luxurious edge, enhancing not only the lighting but also the overall atmosphere of contemporary spaces.

The AJ lamp has been around for 68 years and is as sharp as ever, thanks to its impeccable light and sophisticated contours. They harmoniously complement the lamps Danish star architect Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in the late 1950s. In the new series, the soft glow from the brass enhances the AJ Lamp design's timeless appeal, giving any interior a cool edge from the golden age of Danish design.

Famous for a reason
Whenever Arne Jacobsen is mentioned, many people immediately think of the AJ lamp. This iconic design exudes elegance and creates comfortable islands of light that enhance the atmosphere of a space. The lamp also offers excellent downward-directed, non-glaring lighting, making it ideal for work. It can be adjusted 90 degrees up and down to optimise the light distribution further.

Enhanced with elegant brass details
Arne Jacobsen's classic stringent design now features exquisite brass details that will naturally patinate over time, enhancing their exclusive appearance with a characteristic black or warm grey finish on the outer surface of the shade and base.

A prominent modernist architect
Arne Jacobsen is celebrated for his innovative design of various buildings in Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom. He is especially recognised for his remarkable Gesamtkunstwerks, the total works of art like the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, where he meticulously designed every detail, including the building itself, lamps, furniture, cutlery, fabrics, wallpaper patterns, sanitary fixtures and more.
The AJ Lamp family originally included a floor lamp, a table lamp, a smaller table lamp, a wall lamp and a table-mounted lamp, all found around the SAS Royal Hotel, in stainless steel versions, after its inauguration in 1960.

From May 2025, the AJ Mini Table Lamp, AJ Wall Lamp and AJ Floor Lamp will be available in Black and Warm Grey with brass details at selected stores and louispoulsen.com.
