Ride the elevator to the top of Copenhagen’s Illum department store, and you’ll find yourself in one of the finest spots in the city to eat and drink. Among the restaurants and cafés on the rooftop of Illum is Original Coffee, which needed a lighting solution that would do justice to this prestigious location.
The café is lit by 26 of Louis Poulsen’s black Toldbod pendants, suspended above the low tables and the window counter with views over the city. There are also four Toldbod wall lights. The matt white inner surface of Toldbod’s elliptical shade helps to ensure a gentle, even, downward distribution of light.
Above the larger tables are four white PH 3½-3 pendants, and mounted on countertops are four PH 3½-2½ lamps.
The simple, precision-designed fittings are integrated into the café’s clean, modern look, and chime with Original Coffee’s branding. They help give an exclusive feel to this very special location, while providing a beautiful, relaxing lit effect.
