Light adds a human touch to this Swedish office building

Stand in the atrium of Kraftringen’s headquarters and look up, and you’ll see dozens of glowing spheres, hung at different heights in an irregular pattern. As well as providing illumination, the lights make the space feel relaxed, natural and human. When architects Landén + Krantz began renovating the offices of this Swedish energy company, they wanted to create a positive, collaborative working environment. Open spaces were a key part of this, and none more so than the atrium – a natural meeting place and focal point.

Patera helps to illuminate a vital space in Kraftringen’s newly renovated office, encouraging informal interaction and a sense of wellbeing. At the same time, the design communicates intuitively that this is a business that puts people at its heart.
