Malene Birger is a nomad and collector of art, objects and stories. Travelling the world, her home bears witness to her life as a successful international designer and artist, founded on exquisite taste, dedication to hard work and a keen nose for business.
As a highly creative person and a doer, transitioning from three decades in the fashion industry into to art and interior design came naturally to Malene Birger.
In 2014, she sold her shares in her fashion brand and took a decisive step to move on, adding a whole new dimension to her life.
"It was a natural desire to test, challenge and develop myself. Nothing big ever comes easy, but I only have positive things to say about the transition. After all, change is the only constant we have in life. I feel freer now, reborn almost."
Malene Birger first visited Mallorca in 1969 as a child and has lived on the Spanish island twice, most recently since 2020.
This time, she intends to stay for a long time. She feels the island has chosen her, as it provides so much and fulfils her on multiple levels
"The island is vibrant, brimming with international entrepreneurs and its dynamic energy fuels a creative spirit. Not to mention its breath-taking beauty and nature. I feel that my art and interior design have a purpose here."
"The pendant is my favourite. It’s such a versatile piece. It works beautifully as a pair or even in groups. Imagine twenty of them above a long table, like pearls on a string."

A deep appreciation of aesthetics is evident in Malene Birger's remarkable home, which is carefully curated with items from her life and travels, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for her guests.
To Malene Birger, a great home is characterised by a cosy ambience, music and food. She hopes her guests leave her home feeling inspired by the interior and atmosphere she's created, where the PH Aged Brass lamps have merged in completely naturally.
"The PH Aged Brass collection is iconic – both pure and strong. The lamps bring a sense of calm to my eclectic universe, like jewels. I grew up with PH lamps, so my connection to them is deeply emotional. It's Danish design and lighting at its very best."
