Launched in 2017 by Danish-Italian design duo Gamfratesi, Yuh is now in the spotlight with a new Scandinavian style. Louis Poulsen presents a new version of Yuh, based on brass stems and black or white marble, which will give sophistication to any interior.
"The functionality remains the same, but the first model was more minimalistic, with a distinct monotone, and the new Yuh exudes a warm feel, and the marble adds a unique touch to each individual product." Stine Gumm and Enrico Fratesi explain.
Yuh is a product designed to flexibly fit into everyday life with the shade moving up, down, left and right as needed. It emits a glare-free downward light, but the shape of the shade leaves a narrow opening at the top, allowing the light to diffuse upwards as well.
Gamfratesi, who appreciates gentle and soft light, has incorporated a diffuser on the underside of the Yuh shade to produce diffused light. The LED light source can also be dimmed to 15%~100%, and there is also a built-in timer that automatically turns off after 4 or 8 hours. You can also set the brightness at the level of your choice.
It was in 2017 that Gamfratesi collaborated with Louis Poulsen to introduce the Yuh series of table, floor and wall lamps. They were available in two versions, all-black and all-white, leaving open the door for exploring new colours and material possibilities.
"With the new Yuh, natural materials and technology blend together: a product that is very tactile and has a natural texture," says Gamfratesi.
The classic black and white Yuh matches most modern interiors, but this time, the Yuh with high-quality Italian marble and matte brass delivers a more gentle charm of Scandinavian style.
The new Yuh will be launched in October 2019.
