Throughout his life, Poul Henningsen sought to create exceptional glare-free light. The PH Snowball, designed in 1958, bears some resemblance to Henningsen's original Contrast lamp and the PH Louvre, with a series of 8 shades that form an elongated spherical silhouette.
The PH Snowball was first exhibited in 1958 at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art (now known as Design Museum Denmark), as part of an exhibition called Glass, Light and Colour. Following this, the PH Snowball was put to one side, until it was reintroduced in 1983.
For the first time since its introduction in 1958, the PH Snowball is presented with a new finish. The white-surfaced shades of the PH Snowball Anniversary Edition are combined with a barely-there pale rose tint below and a glossy brass frame, providing a sophisticated, warm twist to today’s modern and classic interiors, no matter where the icon is placed.
Each PH Snowball Anniversary Edition has a unique ID number engraved on it and is only available while stocks last, as only 300 pendants with individual engraved numbers have been made.
